Mission Week 42: September 18, 2017

September 18, 2017

I'M A TRAINER AGAIN!!!!

MY DAUGHTER... Sister Carly Alston ----(the sister I'm training) is AMERICAN! SHE IS FROM OREM, UTAH! SHE WENT TO TIMPANOGOS HIGH SCHOOL AND HAS TWO OLDER SISTERS- SHE IS THE FIRST MISSIONARY IN HER FAMILY TO SERVE BESIDES HER DAD.

She went to the University of Utah for one year and now she is here with me! She is so great and is already learning fast! She is so cute and I love her so much! We have soooo many things in common and I just love her and am so blessed to have her as my daughter in the mission!
I was not expecting to get an American trainee!! Only 2 foreigners arrived- one American and one Mexican sister and Sister Bott and I, with the least amount of time in the mission got the two foreigners to train!!!!!!!! WE ARE SOOOO HAPPY!

I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD TRAIN AN AMERICAN! Especially cause I'm considered such a young trainer and because of the language, but right when I saw Sister Alston, I felt that she was my daughter!!! She is wonderful and we are soooo happy!! She is so willing to try and is so easy going!!!
This was a crazy but good first week back in Bauru. the members freaked out when they heard that I was coming back and we already have family nights marked for every single night this upcoming week and into next week because the members are so anxious to have us over and are excited to bring friends that aren't members yet! We are soooo excited! Sister Alston is working on understanding me and the Brazilians which is totally normal, but we are doing lots of language practices andI'm trying to slow down a little bit so that she can understand me a bit more easily. She is so determined and so willing to work! Sooooo great!
The training day is so fun! On Monday night, I traveled from Maringa with Sister Trindade because she was also called in to train and we slept in Cambe with Sister Bott!! It was so fun! Then we all got up super early and went into Londrina to have training with Presidente and then we all met the new missionaries. we all got to great all of the new missionaries and in that moment, I felt like Sister Alston was meant to be my daughter in the mission...I didn't get my hopes up...because I still didn't know....its always a surprise for the new missionary and the trainer that day..but I felt so strongly that she was sent here for me!!

Then, we heard some more trainings from Presidente and then the AP's put up a big PowerPoint slideshow of everyone of the new missionaries one by one with their trainer and area. and then they new missionary and the trainer jump up and run to hug each other! I was so nervous to see who would be my trainee and hoping that it would be Sister Alston....she hadn't left my side since she got to the mission office and so I felt like maybe she was hoping to be with me too. when it was officially announced, Sister Bott and I were in shock that we were the youngest trainers and that we were being trusted with the only two foreigners!!! That means that we will have to help teach the language, culture, everything from scratch! What an awesome privilege and opportunity to learn!!!

After that, Sister Alston and I were on cloud nine and Presidente knew it...hahaha we all went to Presidente's house and had lunch and took tons of pictures and then Presidente did some more trainings!

After, we went to the bus station and rode 5 hours to Bauru-- got here about midnight and R. and V. and the Elders picked us up there at the bus station in Bauru...we were EXHAUSTED but so happy to be able to rest!!!

N. is so great and I was so anxious to get back to her! SHE FREAKED OUT WHEN SHE SAW ME WALK INTO HER HOUSE! MY HEART MELTED! and Sister Alston afterwards said, "I never want to leave the mission! now I understand why you always tell me that you love being a missionary! It's because of kids like her, isn't it??? 18 months isn't long enough!" Soooo cute!

Shes right, and I do always tell her that I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!

Mission Week 41: September 11, 2017

September 11, 2017

WE STILL DONT KNOW ABOUT THE TRANSFERS!!!! I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THAT I WILL TRAIN A SISTER STARTING TOMORROW, BUT LITERALLY PRESIDENTE HAS NOT FINISHED THE TRANSFERS YET AND SO NO ONE WILL KNOW UNTIL LATER THIS AFTERNOON! THIS NEVER HAPPENS!!! EVERYONE IS ON EDGE....if I get called to train a new sister, I will travel tonight or tomorrow morning to pick up my new "daughter" and eat lunch at the Presidente's house will all of the other new missionaries and trainers....fingers crossed...but either way..I am fine to be with anyone in any area. I am not sure if I will stay in Bauru Centro another transfer...but the ward members have been calling me all week asking me if I am coming back.....we will see this afternoon what Presidente decides.......

When I talked to you guys last Monday, I was in Presidente's house still....we ate lunch there- me, Sister Silva, and the Pereira's and then we took Sister Silva to the bus station to head home. she was emotional saying goodbye to me and I told her I loved her.

I slept on Monday night in Cascavel with some sisters there and we had a good time- it was Sister Penni's last area before she went home and I missed her so much!

The next day was the conference in Cascavel and i saw lots of old friends-- Sisters Cisneros, Sadleir, etc. and it was fun. I didn't participate in the practices or anything because Sister Pereira and I were designated companions.

I seriously LOVE MY MISSION PRESIDENTE AND HIS WIFE!!!! I FEEL SO LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO FEEL OF THEIR GOODNESS AND SPIRIT, especially during our travels this week!!!!!!!!

On our way home after the conference on Tuesday, Presidente dropped me off in another zone in our mission, closer to Londrina, called Maringá. I spent this week with the sister training leader, Sister Trindade, because her companion went home (finished her mission). Sister Trindade is considered an official companion for me, my 10th in 9 months....lol...because I spent a full week with her already. She is from Rio Grande do Sul-- Patricia Trindade- she is 25 and more quiet at first, but she is soooo much fun! I know that we probably wont stay together after today, but I loved this week with her! We worked super hard here in her area and felt the spirit so strong in our lessons this week! She is so fun! she wants to get to know Zach better.........:) !!!!! She loves "all of me" by John Legend and almost died when I told her that that is Zach and my duet go-to song together!! lol!

Sister Trindade wants to get a card from you, mom!!!!! hehe

I was in contact with Bauru all week, trying to help my investigators and ward to progress while I was traveling. It was hard to leave my area and investigators this week, but the ward was awesome and kept things afloat for me this week.

N. WAS CONFIRMED AND HER GRANDMA WILL BE AT CHURCH THIS WEEK- HER GRANDMA TOLD THE MEMBERS THAT SHE WANTS TO START COMING TO OUR CHURCH TO SUPPORT HER GRANDDAUGHTER!!! yay!!!!!!

I MISS N. SO MUCH AND AM HOPING TO STAY IN BAURU TO KEEP HELPING HER! I know even if I get transferred out of Bauru today, I still need to go back and get my suitcases so...I will see her again.... I HOPE TO ATLEAST STAY ONE MORE TRANSFER THERE...we will see...the Lord knows what is best!!!!

This week was awesome!! I am usually a home body, even in the mission, I like to stay in my area, working and just focusing there, but this week was a blast! I saw the whole mission in 2 days! I am tired, but Sister Trindade and I had a great week with her investigators in Maringá. We also found lots of new people for her to start working with this new transfer.

On Wednesday- she said that she thought it would be a good idea to knock doors to find people, but she was unsure where to start knocking. We went back and forth for a few minutes, looking at our map...but then I concluded, "sister, vamos fazer uma oração.. posso fazer?" Then I said a prayer. We stood there in the street and I prayed, making a promise with the Lord that we would do our part to talk to everyone possible in the following hour to find people to receive our message, and that in return, we wanted to find 5 people ready to receive us during that hour. After the prayer, we knocked just two houses and WE TAUGHT 5 PEOPLE!!! SERIOUSLY, AFTER THAT PRAYER, WE KNOCKED ONLY TWO HOUSES AND FOUND THE 5 PEOPLE WE HAD ASKED THE LORD TO PREPARE FOR US!!!! PRAYER IS REAL! WE HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC IN OUR PRAYERS, MAKE A PROMISE WITH THE LORD, AND HE, THROUGH OUR FAITH AND WORKS, ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES!!!!!! WE WERE SO HAPPY!

Its the seemingly little things here in the mission that really are little things at all. I AM SEEING THE HAND OF THE LORD IN EVERY DAY AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! BEING A MISSIONARY IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!

Mission Week 40: September 4, 2017 Happy Labor Day!

September 4, 2017

HEY! I DON'T HAVE LOTS OF TIME! I AM SORRY!

THIS WEEK WAS CRAZY!!!

THE BAPTISM WAS FANTASTIC!!!! THE WARD WAS SOOO WONDERFUL AND THE PRIMARY TOO! THE PRIMARY KIDS SANG, "I LIKE TO LOOK FOR RAINBOWS" AND DID THE PARTY FOR N. her grandma and cousins were there and the whole day was soooooo special!!! MY HEART WAS BEAMING WITH JOY! I SERIOUSLY LOVE THAT LITTLE GIRL AND HER FAMILY SOOOO MUCH!!!!!

I WAS SO GRATEFUL AGAIN FOR SUCH A SUPPORTIVE WARD!! THEY ARE WONDERFUL AND HELPED US SO MUCH WITH EVERYTHING THIS WEEK!!!

After the baptism, we went that night to N.'s house to follow up with her and she said, "Sister Tyson, I have this warm feeling my chest and I don't know what it is...it feels like so much happiness...it kind of feels tight in there..." hahhaaha I explained to her about how it was Heavenly Fathers way of telling her that he was proud of her decision... in my mind I thought, "if she thinks she is feeling good now, just wait until she is confirmed and given the gift of the Holy Ghost!"

It was honestly sooooo sweet!

Her grandma goes to another church and has never prayed in front of us during the many lessons we have taught them, but when we came back to their house that night she prayed out loud in front of us and said, "Lord, thank you for sending these young sisters to me and my family. I know the Lord sent them for a reason- to save my granddaughter and the Lord was merciful to us today. I know that their work is not done here yet, but that these girls will come back to help my whole family be saved as well,"

MY HEART IS BEAMING!!!!! I AM SOOOO GRATEFUL. I know that this baptism was not me nor my companion- THE LORD WORKS MIRACLES AND THE SPIRIT PREPARES THE HEARTS OF THE WILLING. I love the Lord soooo much and am seeing His hand everyday!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, we had Stake Conference again in Bauru and so Presidente and Sister Pereira came to Bauru and then we traveled in their car to do a devotional in another part of Sao Paulo on our way home to Londrina. Presidente thought it would be best for me to travel with them and Sister Silva to Londrina and spend the last week of the transfer her in Londrina with other sisters so that Sister Silva could get on the road home early in the day.

Sister Tyson, Presidente Pereira & V.

So.... we traveled late last night in his car with him and Sister Pereira and had a blast chatting for hours until we got to Londrina at midnight. I am still at the Presidente's house as we speak using his computer to email. WE SLEPT IN HIS HOUSE AND IT WAS SOOOO FUN! SERIOUSLY LIKE A HOTEL!! EVEN IN THE BATHROOMS THEY HAVE COMPLIMENTARY TOILETRIES WHICH I WILL BRING HOME FOR MOM'S SAFE KEEPING!!!

PRESIDENTE wants me to come back with my husband and you guys before he finishes serving his mission-- he offered to let all of us stay in the MISSION HOME WITH HIM AND HIS FAMILY! HAHAHAHAHA

Today, I will spend the day in traveling to Maringa- another city close to Londrina- with Presidente and Sister Pereira. we will take Sister Silva home and then I will spend the week as the companion to the Sister Training Leader. I will help her in her area in Maringá......I just brought clothes for the week....but my heart thinks that I when this week ends, and the new transfer starts.... I will get a trainee again and start the real training of a new sister arriving from the CTM....Presidente told people in my ward in Bauru that there is a big chance that I will return to Bauru just to pick up my luggage and then be transferred to a new area........he told R. and V. that he has big plans for me coming up and wants me closer to him.......I would be soooo sad to leave Bauru....devastated.....but I have faith and know that whatever happens,..it will be the Lord's will.....and who knows??? Maybe I will end up going back to Bauru next week for good......PRESIDENTE HASNT DECIDED YET....SO I WILL TRAVEL WITH HIM THIS WEEK AND SEE WHAT HE WANTS ME TO DO.....PRAY FOR ME AND FOR HIM HEHEHEHE

WE WILL BE RECEIVING 7 NEW SISTERS IN THE MISSION THIS WEEK...SO I MIGHT TRAIN AGAIN.......FINGERS CROSSED HEHEHE

I am honestly happy anywhere with anyone!! I JUST LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!! I NEVER WANT THIS TIME TO END!! SOAKING UP EVERYDAY!!!
